Wow, today was fantastic! It brings me such joy to see these guys perform their drama. They have developed amazing acting skills and as I said to the parents after class, these skills will support them in their real lives as well as the ones on a stage. To be able to use your vocals, body and faces to express and understand emotion is very important for a child, and an adult! Having the ability to practice and understand ones emotions will support them in making important choices, building relationships and maintaining a healthy well bring and positive mental attitude. We all want the children to have a happy childhood and we all want them to function well in their education; this can be done through having a sound understanding of emotions, how and when to express them. We can all see that this class in particular have developed a very strong understanding of just that, and it is progressing week by week. I was very happy with Kate today and how she showed emotion through her voice in our speech lines. I was also very happy with Darren for his progressive volume in our story drama, he has improved so much. Also I am so proud of Bonnie and her new found confidence in snippets! The whole classes today have been wonderful and I cannot wait to bring them some interesting challenges next week.
